Àine
Name: Àine Zaar.
Age: Unknown. Appearance of 25 years.
Species: Daughter of Apsu. || Race: Lebbo.
Àine’s life has lights and shadows, she’s known as a formidable warrior and it’s known that her ancestor (with the same name) fought in the war against the dragons centuries ago, where she met Litha and became the ‘Khan’s Daughter’.
But something is not right. Àine is not the descendant of this warrior, IS that warrior. She hides to others the secret and over the years is assuming the identity of their hypothetical ‘daughters’. Something that anger her because she’d like to be recognized for all she did in the past.
Some say that when she was adopted by the Khan she made some sort of pact with the black dragons with what she appears to be an eternal life. Maybe it’s just idle gossip, but the weapons that she always brings with her show that perhaps there is some of truth…
Àine is now seeking only fame and they paid high for her services, it is not surprising that sooner or later she be submitted to the Test of the Oracle.
Character Design
Some time ago I created a cast of characters for a novel that I did not write and that led to El Refugio. Àine is dressed like one of those characters, called Windblade, a warrior of the air country with a scarred face and blinded in one eye. He wears the same scarf and similar armor, but he fights with two swords.
Àine, Yesterday and Today
Àine had at first the hair of a color between lilac and white, much clearer as she has now. When I coloured her digitally for the first time, the pic resulted of a darker color, and this has been. The remaining features are the same from the beginning: almond eyes, tall and stout, hard features and expressions of pride…
Combat
Aine’s wardrobe has undergone many changes since the beginning of the story. At first she wore a metal rigid frame without pads, and claws had a much more uncomfortable. In fact, you could not see how they took off.
Aine had thought for a combat mode fast and deadly, so that the armor should be more flexible and give more agility and range of motion.
In the past, we saw Àine with a rigid armor of battle surrounded by flames. Although less mobile, it’s articulated and allow him to move, attack and block with his metal claws, in a style similar to the katara.
When the Khan gives Àine two of his teeth to make her weapons, the weapons become more of cut and less on edge. The teeth can cut anything, so it does not require great strength to handle them. But Aine has. This new weapon with a claw is attached to the arm through bracers that give more convenience to both the grab (similar to katara) and to receive the impact.
The new Àine’s armor is composed of several pieces on a coat of white/lilac satin-like material. On this robe she wears a chain mail and armor that only covers the chest (and on the back is shaped like an articulated spine), shoulder pads and guards in the pelvisand thighs.
